According to this week’s NASS Crop Progress report, 96% of the US spring wheat crop had been harvested by Sunday, in line with the average pace. Winter wheat planting was 17% complete, 4 percentage points behind the five-year average. Emergence stood at 2%.

Monday morning’s Export Inspections report showed wheat shipments of 335,253 MT (12.32 million bushels) for the week ending September 17. This was down 29.12% from the previous week and nearly one-third below the same week last year. Mexico was the largest destination at 98,954 MT, followed by Vietnam at 66,023 MT and the Philippines at 65,069 MT. Marketing-year shipments have now reached 6.028 MMT (221.47 million bushels), 31.49% below the same period last year.
