According to Monday’s Crop Progress report, as of September 20, 58% of the US corn crop had reached maturity, while 13% of the crop had been harvested. This was ahead of the 11% average pace. The crop rated good to excellent increased by 1 percentage point to 57%, while the Brugler500 index remained steady at 347.

According to USDA’s FGIS report, US corn export shipments totaled 1.938 MMT (76.32 million bushels) for the week ending September 17. This was up 24.9% from the previous week and 39.87% above the same week last year. Japan was the largest destination at 591,923 MT, followed by Mexico at 540,979 MT and Colombia at 259,441 MT. Marketing-year exports for 2026/27 have now reached 4.139 MMT (162.93 million bushels), 15.94% above the same period last year.

According to AgRural, 27% of Brazil’s first corn crop had been planted as of Thursday, ahead of the 25% pace recorded last year.
