Limited Recovery in Groundnut Amidst Normal Trading Activity
New Delhi: Amidst normal arrivals and limited trading activity, groundnut prices remained stable at ₹6,000–₹9,000 per quintal in Rajkot, Gujarat, during the week of May 2–8. Daily arrivals in the region stood at 8,000–10,000 bags. In Bikaner, Rajasthan, the price level of ₹7,500 per quintal also remained unchanged; however, in Solapur, Maharashtra, prices rose by ₹200 to reach ₹8,000 per quintal.
Uttar Pradesh
In the Jhansi market of Uttar Pradesh, strong buying interest from traders caused groundnut prices to jump by ₹500, reaching ₹6,500–₹7,500 per quintal. Similarly, in Mauranipur, prices improved by ₹100 to stand at ₹6,500–₹7,100 per quintal; conversely, in Mahoba, prices declined by ₹100, settling at ₹6,800–₹7,000 per quintal.
Groundnut Kernels
In Solapur and Nagpur, Maharashtra, prices for shelled groundnut kernels witnessed a fluctuation of ₹100 per quintal, with demand from millers and exporters remaining weak.
Groundnut Oil
Prices for loose groundnut oil remained stable at ₹1,600 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh, and Jamnagar (Gujarat); however, a marginal improvement of ₹10–₹20 was recorded in other trading centers.
Branded Oil
Prices for branded groundnut oil in Kota—as well as filtered groundnut oil in Jaipur and Newai—remained stable due to limited trading activity. However, groundnut De-oiled Cake (DOC) witnessed some sales, resulting in a price recovery of ₹1,000–₹2,000 per tonne.
