New Delhi. With the aim of controlling the rising food inflation, the Central Government is now planning to keep a close watch on the prices of 16 other commodities.
It is worth mentioning that at present 22 food products are included in the government's price monitoring list, while in future there is a plan to include 16 other products in it, which will increase the number of these products to 38.
BJP had made a firm promise in its election manifesto (Sankalp Patra) to save the plate of the poor, but due to the rapidly increasing food inflation, a serious crisis has arisen on this plate itself.
In its initial 100 days' action plan, the government has set a target to control inflation and ensure the availability of essential commodities to the poor class at a reasonable price.
The government feels that the prices of rice, wheat, flour, edible oil, sugar and coarse grains are either stable in a certain limit or there is a slight change in it, but there is a huge fluctuation in the prices of vegetables. Potato, onion and tomato are mainly included in it. Vegetables are expected to be specifically included in the new watch list.
