State wise quota allotted for export of 10 lakh tonne sugar

The Central Government has approved the export of 10 lakh tonnes of sugar, with quotas allocated to major sugar-producing states. The export quotas are as follows:
- Maharashtra: 3,74,996 tonnes
- Uttar Pradesh: 2,74,184 tonnes
- Karnataka: 1,74,980 tonnes
- Tamil Nadu: 34,236 tonnes
- Gujarat: 31,994 tonnes
- Haryana: 22,210 tonnes
- Bihar: 20,297 tonnes
- Madhya Pradesh: 18,404 tonnes
- Punjab: 17,200 tonnes
- Uttarakhand: 13,223 tonnes
- Telangana: 7,842 tonnes
- Andhra Pradesh: 5,841 tonnes
- Chhattisgarh: 3,423 tonnes
- Odisha: 886 tonnes
- Rajasthan: 289 tonnes
The top three sugar-producing states—Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka—account for approximately 82.42% of the total export quota, or 8,24,160 tonnes. The remaining 1.76 lakh tonnes is distributed among the other states.
This decision is based on an estimated sugar production of 320 lakh tonnes, with domestic consumption and ethanol use accounted for, alongside an existing stock of 79 lakh tonnes.
