Soybean Arrivals in Mandis Reach 5.7 Million Tonnes by February

Indore: According to the latest monthly report released by the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA), total soybean arrivals in mandis across the country during the first five months of the current marketing season (October 2025 to February 2026) reached 5.7 million tonnes, which includes 0.7 million tonnes of government stock. During the same period last season, soybean arrivals were 6.6 million tonnes.

Compared with last season, soybean arrivals declined in most months. Arrivals in October fell from 1.8 million tonnes to 1.5 million tonnes, in December from 1.2 million tonnes to 1.0 million tonnes, in January from 1.15 million tonnes to 0.8 million tonnes, and in February from 0.85 million tonnes to 0.6 million tonnes. However, arrivals in November 2025 increased from 1.6 million tonnes to 1.8 million tonnes.

According to SOPA’s report, in the 2025–26 marketing season, total soybean availability in the country is expected to reach 12.392 million tonnes. This includes 0.766 million tonnes of carryover stock, 11.026 million tonnes of production, and 0.6 million tonnes of expected imports.

Out of this total availability:

1.0 million tonnes will be reserved as seed stock for the next sowing season.

0.5 million tonnes will be used for direct domestic consumption.

Around 10.2 million tonnes will be processed through domestic crushing.

After these uses, the closing stock of soybean at the end of the season is expected to be about 0.692 million tonnes.

Crushing 10.2 million tonnes of soybean is expected to produce around 8.117 million tonnes of soybean meal. Of this:

1.0 million tonnes is likely to be exported.

7.0 million tonnes will be used domestically.

Within domestic consumption, about 0.8 million tonnes will be used for food purposes, while 6.2 million tonnes will likely be utilized in animal feed production. By the end of the season, around 0.117 million tonnes of soybean meal may remain as carryover stock.
