Sharp Increase in U.S. Wheat Exports
★ According to the USDA, as of March 5, the United States recorded export sales of 450,000 tons of old-crop wheat and 40,350 tons of new-crop wheat. Mexico imported the largest quantity at 238,000 tons, followed by China with 68,000 tons and Japan with 66,000 tons.
★ According to the Census report, the U.S. exported 1.53 million tons of wheat in January, the highest monthly export level in the last three years.
★ According to an agency estimate, European Union soft wheat exports are projected to decline by 500,000 tons to 27.1 million tons, while production in 2026–27 is expected to increase by 300,000 tons to 128.6 million tons.
