Regina. In Saskatchewan, one of Canada's leading agricultural provinces, total production of grain and oilseed crops reached a new record level of 41.9 million tonnes this year, 13.7 percent higher than last year's production. This production is also 24 percent higher than the five-year average.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, the record production of grains and oilseeds, despite natural disasters and pest and disease outbreaks, is not only a remarkable achievement but also clear evidence of farmers' strong adoption of improved and modern technologies and farming practices.

This year, new production records were set for two crops: canola and lentils. Canola production in Saskatchewan surged to 12.2 million tonnes, and lentil production increased to an all-time high of 2.9 million tonnes.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Agriculture, in addition to lentils and canola, Saskatchewan produced 12.7 million tonnes of spring wheat, 5.4 million tonnes of durum wheat, 3.5 million tonnes of barley, 1.8 million tonnes of peas, and 1.8 million tonnes of oats during 2025.

According to the ministry, lentil production in Saskatchewan saw the highest increase of 37 percent this year compared to last year. In addition, canola production increased by 16.7 percent, barley by 16 percent, durum wheat by 8.5 percent, and spring wheat production by 5.3 percent.
