Notification to Recall Several Cargoes: DGFT
★ Yesterday, DGFT issued a notification to recall several cargo shipments due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which created significant movement in the markets.
★ At the same time, several companies have increased marine route container insurance charges, which will now impact the cost of imported commodities.
★ IGrain India believes that if the war escalates further, the import parity of commodities such as pulses, edible oils, spices, and dry fruits may rise, which could lead to an increase in prices. Taking advantage of this rise, profit-booking sales are advised. Once a ceasefire takes place, prices may fall again.
★ Exported commodities such as rice, maize, spices, dry fruits, wheat and its products, cotton, and oilseeds may see higher export parity levels.
★ Prices of these commodities are already higher than international levels. This may create pressure on agricultural commodity prices.
