News Capsule: Indian Kabuli chickpea export prices moved higher this week, with the strongest gains seen in larger-size grades.
★ The price of 42–44 count Kabuli chickpeas for Turkey rose to $1,325/tonne on August 13, up $40, or 3%, from the previous week. The price is also about 5% above its four-week average.
★ For the UAE, 42–44 count increased to $1,250/tonne, while 58–60 count rose to $995/tonne. The biggest weekly gain was recorded in 58–60 count for Turkey, which climbed $40 to $1,040/tonne.
★ The rise in export prices indicates firm demand for Indian Kabuli chickpeas in key markets, particularly Turkey and the UAE. Overall, stronger export prices are providing positive support to the Indian Kabuli chickpea market.
