★ नए कृषि मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने कल उच्च अधिकारीयों के साथ मीटिंग में कहा कि 2027-28 तक भारत दलहन उत्पादन मामले में आत्मनिर्भर बनेगा।
★ मंत्री ने कहा कि 2023-24 में मानसून खराब होने से कृषि दर 1.7% घटी।
★ दलहनों का बिजाई क्षेत्रफल व उत्पादकता बढाने पर करने होगा अधिक फोकस।
★ मंत्री ने कहा कि देश कुल खपत का 15% विदेशों से करता है आयात इसके लिए 4 बिलियन डॉलर 2023-24 में खर्च किये गये।
★ चालू सीजन के पहले दो महीनों यानी अप्रैल मई में दलहन आयात बीते सीजन से 20% अधिक।
★ लगातार दो वर्ष से दलहन उत्पादन में आई गिरावट जिससे आयात में वृद्धि देखी गयी।
★ अप्रैल से मई के दौरान 1.23 लाख टन तुवर का आयात किया गया।
★ उड़द आयात गत सीजन में अप्रैल मई के दौरान 57,865 टन था इस सीजन में बढ़कर 1.33 लाख टन पहुंचा।
★ म्यांमार में उत्पादन बढ़ने के कारण भारत को हो रहा है बड़ी मात्रा में निर्यात।
★ अप्रैल से मई के दौरान 1.14 लाख टन मसूर आयात की गयी जो गत वर्ष 1.28 लाख टन थी।
★ पिछले वित्त वर्ष में 2023 के मुकाबले दलहनों का आयात 84% उछलकर 46.5 लाख टन पहुंचा। 2023-24 में 25.3 लाख टन हुआ था आयात।
★ पिछले वित्त वर्ष में मसूर का आयात बढ़ा परन्तु तुवर व उड़द का घटा।

★ New Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in a meeting with senior officials yesterday that India will become self-sufficient in pulses production by 2027-28.
★ The minister said that due to bad monsoon in 2023-24, the agricultural rate decreased by 1.7%.
★ More focus will have to be done on increasing the sowing area and productivity of pulses.
★ The minister said that the country imports 15% of the total consumption from abroad, for which 4 billion dollars were spent in 2023-24.
★ Pulse imports in the first two months of the current season i.e. April-May were 20% more than the last season.
★ There has been a decline in pulse production for two consecutive years, due to which an increase in imports was seen.
★ 1.23 lakh tonnes of tur was imported from April to May.
★ Urad imports were 57,865 tonnes during April-May last season, which increased to 1.33 lakh tonnes this season.
★ Due to increased production in Myanmar, large quantities are being exported to India.
★ During April to May, 1.14 lakh tonnes of lentils were imported, which was 1.28 lakh tonnes last year.
★ In the last financial year, the import of pulses jumped 84% to 46.5 lakh tonnes as compared to 2023. In 2023-24, 25.3 lakh tonnes were imported.
★ In the last financial year, the import of lentils increased but that of tur and urad decreased.
