New Delhi. The Union Food Minister has launched a mobile application of FCI Grievance Redressal System (GRS) for rice millers, under which efforts will be made to redress the complaints and problems of rice mill owners.

This app has also been included in the efforts being made by the government to increase transparency, responsibility and satisfaction among the concerned parties.

It is known that Food Corporation of India is the most important (nodal) government agency for the purchase and distribution of food grains. The Food Corporation purchases huge quantities of paddy and wheat from farmers.

According to the Union Food Minister, rice millers are an important and diverse part of the domestic food security system and the government is committed to their welfare.

This mobile app will help in redressal of their problems and complaints. This mobile app is available for download on Google Play Store for Android users.

The Food Minister said that the government is also working for the welfare and progress of farmers and is also ensuring that common consumers get adequate quantity of food at reasonable prices.

In association with the Digital India Initiative, the objective of this mobile application is to improve the accountability and responsibility of rice millers.

For this, it was necessary to provide them a convenient platform or base where they can register their complaints, monitor their status and also get a response on their mobile device in a digital manner.

This will be a personal response which no other person will be able to see or hear. Millers can easily register their complaints and problems on this app and they will also be given the correct answer.
