International Wheat Market
According to Weekly Export Inspections data, 261,786 MT (9.62 mbu) of wheat was shipped during the week ending January 16. This represents a 12.5% decline from the previous week and a 16.94% drop compared to the same week in 2024. Mexico was the top destination with 48,992 MT, followed by South Korea with 45,071 MT. Total marketing year shipments have reached 13.279 MMT (487.9 mbu), 23.83% higher than the previous year.
Japan issued a tender for 126,893 MT of wheat from the U.S., Canada, and Australia, with 30,793 MT specifically allocated to the U.S. The European Commission estimated wheat exports at 11.74 MMT from July 1 to January 19, which is 6.75 MMT lower than the same period last year.
