International Cotton Market Update
In Wednesday's session, cotton futures closed with gains of 20 to 27 points. External factors supported the market as the U.S. Dollar Index dropped by 150 points, and crude oil prices surged by $2.99 per barrel, surpassing the $80 level.
The Seam reported online sales of 5,283 bales on January 14 at an average price of 60.86 cents per pound. ICE cotton stocks significantly dropped to just 218 bales on Tuesday due to the decertification of 19,895 bales.
The Cotlook A Index rose by 55 points on January 14, reaching 78.00 cents per pound. Meanwhile, the USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) was revised to 54.66 cents per pound last Thursday, down 37 points from the previous week.
