Scattered rains are expected over most parts of the US Corn Belt during the coming week, according to NOAA's 7-day QPF report. The weekly EIA report will be released on Wednesday, with expectations of strong ethanol production following last week's record levels.
According to the USDA Crop Progress report, the corn condition rating improved by 1 point to 72% good to excellent. The Brugler500 index also increased by 1 point to 379. There were regional shifts in ratings across the Corn Belt, with Indiana and Iowa down 4 points each and Texas showing a sharp 16-point decline. On the other hand, Nebraska improved by 8 points, Illinois and Minnesota by 2 points each, and North Dakota by 3 points.
