India to Achieve Record Grain Production by End of 2024
The Ministry of Agriculture has projected a record grain production of 164.7 million tons for the 2024-25 crop year, which ends in July 2025. Favorable weather and a good monsoon have contributed to increased pulses and oilseeds production.
By mid-December, wheat sowing covered 29.31 million hectares, while total rabi crop sowing reached 55.88 million hectares.
The production growth rate is expected to be 3.5%, significantly higher than the previous year's 1.4%.
