Increase in CNF price of Lemon Tuvar and Urad in Myanmar

Mumbai. Due to increase in the price of these two pulses in Myanmar, the major country supplying Tuvar and Urad to India, its CNF price is increasing.
During the last one month, Tuvar registered a huge increase of $ 230 per ton and during the last one year, a huge increase of $ 655 per ton was recorded.
There was relatively less increase in the prices of Urad.According to the data received, the CNF price of Lemon Tuvar in Myanmar on May 1, 2024 was $ 1230 per ton, which increased by $ 230 (Rs 19090) on June 1 to reach $ 1460 per ton and remained stable till June 5.
In this way, there was a huge increase of Rs 1909 per quintal in the CNF price of Lemon Tuvar. Earlier, the price of tur there was only $ 805 per tonne on June 3, 2023, which jumped to $ 1450 per tonne by October 18, 2023.
But due to weak export demand at high prices, its price fell to $ 1120 per tonne on December 16, 2023. On May 1, 2024, it was $ 1230 per tonne, which became $ 1460 per tonne a month later on June 1, 2024.
The off-season of supply of tur has started in India and its limited import is also happening from African countries because there is very little old stock left there and new goods will start arriving from August, so Myanmar's tur exporters are getting a good opportunity to increase the price once again.
Due to high import cost, there is an environment of ups and downs in the price of tur. Like Tuvar, the CNF price of Urad FAQ (General Average Quality) in Myanmar increased by $55 or Rs 4565 from $1045 per tonne on May 1, 2024 to $1100 per tonne on June 1, 2024.
Thus, there was an increase of Rs 457 per quintal. The CNF price of Urad FAQ was $845 per tonne on June 3, 2023, which after jumping to a high of $1155 per tonne on October 18, 2023, fell to $1075 on December 16, 2023 and further to $1045 per tonne on May 1, 2024.
The CNF price of Urad SQ (Standard Quality) also increased by $ 70 or Rs 5810 from $ 1125 per tonne on May 1 to $ 1195 per tonne on June 1, thus increasing by Rs 581 per quintal. Its price was $ 940 per tonne on June 3, 2023. In the current month, the CNF price of Lemon Tuvar and Urad has remained stable so far.
