Impact of Global Conflict on Cotton
★ Cotton futures on the Intercontinental Exchange have been rising in recent sessions.
★ According to the United States Department of Agriculture, the U.S. recorded export sales of 253,000 running bales of cotton by March 5, which is 5% higher than the same period last year. Vietnam purchased the largest quantity at 160,000 running bales, followed by Bangladesh with 28,000 running bales.
★ In the first week of March, cotton exports reached 370,000 running bales, the highest weekly level since May 2025.
★ The U.S. exported 928,000 running bales of cotton in January, which is the lowest level since 2016.
