India (2024-25 Season):
★ Production: Tur (pigeon pea) production is estimated at 38 lakh tons in 2024-25, up from 29-30 lakh tons in 2023-24.
★ Imports & Availability: After 11 lakh tons of imports, total availability is expected to be 49.2 lakh tons. After 40 lakh tons of consumption, 9 lakh tons of stock will remain at the end of the season, compared to 2 lakh tons last year.
★ Import Trends: From April to December, 10.9 lakh tons of tur were imported, up from 6.27 lakh tons in 2023-24, 6.34 lakh tons in 2022-23, and 5.92 lakh tons in 2021-22.
★ Price Trends: Tur prices saw a decline from the high levels in June 2024 (Rs. 11,300 to Rs. 12,400 per quintal) to around Rs. 6,950 to Rs. 8,300 per quintal by January 2025. The minimum support price (MSP) is now below Rs. 7,750 per quintal.

Myanmar:
Rs. Production & Exports: Myanmar's tur production increased due to rising demand from India, with 2025 production expected at 3.75 lakh tons, compared to 2.6 lakh tons in 2023. Exports were 3.13 lakh tons from January to December 2024, and exports are expected to reach 3.5 lakh tons in 2025.
Rs. Price Trends: Burmese tur prices rose to $1,450/ton in October 2023, but dropped to $1,055/ton in January 2024, with further fluctuations. By January 2025, Burmese tur prices fell to $815/ton, which significantly impacted Indian market prices, causing a sharp decline.
Rs. Conclusion: Tur availability in India is expected to remain steady throughout the season, with continuous yellow pea imports also affecting tur consumption.
