The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR, predicting significant weather changes in the coming days.
Expect rain, hailstorms, dense fog, and a cold wave to affect the region, especially on January 23 and 24.
The forecast indicates that several districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Saharanpur, Meerut, Aligarh, and Bulandshahr, could experience rain and hail, which may negatively impact Rabi crops.
In addition, icy winds from the mountainous regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand are expected to bring colder temperatures to the plains, intensifying the cold wave.
The weather is expected to become even harsher, with strong cold winds blowing at speeds of 20-30 km per hour, particularly in western Uttar Pradesh.
This will add to the discomfort, despite the sunny weather. The cold wave will likely spread to eastern Uttar Pradesh as well, with colder nights expected.
While the ongoing rain could benefit Rabi crops, the hailstorm poses a serious threat to them. Farmers are on high alert as the weather poses risks to their crops.
