Export of Approximately 88,000 Tons of Castor Oil in January-February

Mumbai. Data compiled by a leading industry body—the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA)—reveals that during the first two months of the current calendar year (i.e., January-February 2026),
India exported 87,686 tons of castor oil; this figure is significantly lower than the total shipments of 111,018 tons recorded during the corresponding two months of 2025.
According to the Association, 44,448 tons of castor oil were exported in February 2026—a volume slightly higher than the 43,238 tons shipped in January, yet considerably lower than the 58,092 tons exported in February 2025.
During the entire calendar year of 2025 (January–December), India exported a total of 675,168 tons of castor oil, whereas the export volume stood at 649,510 tons in 2024 and 629,418 tons in 2023. India is the world's largest producer of castor seeds and the leading exporter of castor oil and castor meal.
