ICE cotton futures were down 5 to 13 points on Wednesday. Meanwhile, crude oil prices rose by $5.44, adding some premium to the market. The situation involving Iran continues to create volatility in energy markets, although the International Energy Agency has agreed to release 400 million barrels of ethanol reserves. The U.S. dollar index rose by 0.446 to 99.255.
The Cotlook A Index increased by 45 points on Tuesday to 75.20 cents per pound. On March 10, the Seam platform recorded sales of 8,319 bales of cotton at an average price of 61.94 cents per pound. ICE certified cotton stocks declined by 533 bales on March 10 through decertification, bringing the certified stock level to 121,453 bales. The Adjusted World Price was reduced by 40 points last Thursday to 51.44 cents per pound.
