ICE cotton futures were up 15 to 51 points across most contracts. By midday, crude oil prices were up about $3.97, though nearly $25 below overnight highs. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.116 at 99.095.
According to CFTC, managed money increased their net short position in cotton futures and options by 7,569 contracts as of March 3, bringing the total net short position to 72,937 contracts.
On March 6, the Seam platform reported sales of 848 bales at an average price of 58.05 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index fell 10 points on Tuesday to 74.65 cents per pound.
ICE certified cotton stocks were steady on March 6 at 128,504 bales. The Adjusted World Price was reduced by 40 points on Thursday to 51.44 cents per pound.
