ICE cotton futures saw declines of 7 to 12 points across most contracts on Monday. Crude oil futures were up $1 on the day at $59.55 per barrel, while the US Dollar Index slipped 0.058 to 99.350.
USDA’s Export Sales report for the week ending 10/23 showed cotton sales at 132,760 RB, down 24.43% from the prior week. Shipments were the highest of the marketing year at 174,788 RB.
The Seam’s online auction on November 28 recorded sales of 3,605 bales at an average price of 59.75 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index was steady on Friday at 74.95 cents. ICE-certified cotton stocks were unchanged on November 28 at 20,344 bales. The Adjusted World Price (AWP) was updated last week to 50.77 cents per pound, down 3 points from the prior week.
