For the week ending March 12, old crop wheat export sales totaled 189,887 MT, down 58.31% from the previous week, but above last year’s net reductions for the same period. Mexico was the top buyer at 153,100 MT, followed by the Philippines at 47,600 MT and the Dominican Republic at 33,500 MT.
New crop sales were reported at 212,059 MT, exceeding market expectations of 0–50,000 MT, though still 56.82% below last year. The Philippines purchased 100,000 MT, while Mexico bought 54,700 MT.
Taiwan importers purchased 105,025 MT of U.S. wheat in a recent tender. SovEcon increased its estimate for Russia’s 2026 wheat crop to 87.6 MMT, up 1.7 MMT from its previous figure.
IGC data showed global wheat production for 2025/26 at 845 MMT, up 3 MMT from last month. Consumption was raised by 2 MMT to 825 MMT, and ending stocks increased by 1 MMT to 283 MMT. For 2026/27, production is projected to decline by 23 MMT to 822 MMT, while demand is expected to rise by 6 MMT, reducing stocks to 276 MMT.
