Urad prices fall due to lack of customers
Chennai. Urad prices have fallen during the current week due to increasing selling pressure at higher prices and weak demand. Due to sluggish demand for Urad Dal and Urad Gota, buying of Urad by dal millers has remained limited, due to which rising prices are not getting support. Due to increased selling by importers and weak buying, Chennai Urad prices have fallen by Rs 150 per quintal this week and with this fall, the price at the weekend remained at FAQ Rs 7125 and SQ Rs 7700 per quintal. Similarly, Mumbai Urad prices also saw a fall of Rs 125 per quintal this week and with this fall, the price remained at Rs 7225 per quintal.
Burma
Due to increased selling by exporters and weak buying, Burma Urad FAQ witnessed a decline of $10 and SQ witnessed a decline of $10 per tonne during the current week and with this decline, the price of FAQ remained at $820 per tonne and SQ at $900 per tonne at the weekend.
Delhi
Due to the impact of the port's decline and the slow buying by the dal millers, the price of Urad in Delhi witnessed a decline of Rs.125 per quintal this week. And with this decline, the price of FAQ remained at Rs.7500 and SQ at Rs.8100 per quintal at the weekend.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to weak demand, the price of urad in Madhya Pradesh has declined by Rs. 75/150 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the price remained at Rs. 5000/7400 in Jabalpur, Rs. 5000/6300 in Tikamgarh and Rs. 7000/7700 per quintal in Indore at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to weak demand from dal millers, the price of urad in Maharashtra has declined by Rs. 50/100 per quintal during this week. And with this decline, the price remained at Rs. 7600 in Akola, Rs. 7000/7100 in Latur, Rs. 7225/7725 in Jalgaon, Rs. 6000/6900 in Barshi and Rs. 5500/7000 per quintal at Ahmednagar at the weekend.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round decline and sluggish demand, Kota Urad prices recorded a decline of Rs. 200 per quintal this week and with this decline the price remained at Rs. 4000/6700 per quintal. Similarly, in Krishna District and Vijayawada, the price of Urad recorded a decline of Rs. 150 per quintal this week and at the end of the week the price remained at Rs. 7401 in Krishna District and Rs. 7250/7400 per quintal in Vijayawada.
Urad Dal
Due to the impact of decline in Urad prices and sluggish demand, the price of Urad Dal recorded a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and at the end of the week the price remained at Rs. 9350/11000 in Delhi, Rs. 9800 in Bhatapara, Rs. 10200 in Jalgaon, Rs. 8300/9000 in Meerut and Rs. 9400/12800 per quintal in Indore.
