Weekly Review - Peanuts (January 4-10, 2025)
Fluctuation in peanuts due to normal arrival and limited business
There has been a normal arrival of both new and old peanuts across key peanut-producing states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. However, the market saw some price fluctuations due to limited demand from traders and crushers/processors. Despite the fluctuations, wholesale prices remained well below the government support price of Rs 6,783 per quintal.

Groundnut Seeds
Prices of shelled groundnut seeds rose by Rs 300 to Rs 800 per quintal, driven by good demand.

Groundnut Oil
Loose peanut oil: Prices decreased by Rs 10 to Rs 50 per 10 kg due to weak demand.
Branded oil: Prices remained stable.

This week’s market activity reflects steady arrivals with some price volatility, largely attributed to the limited business from key demand sectors.
