Paddy Prices:
Overall Trend: Paddy prices softened due to weak demand from millers and processors, combined with good arrivals in various markets.
Delhi:
- Narela Mandi saw daily arrivals of 10,000 to 20,000 bags of paddy. Prices of 1509 dropped by Rs 350 to Rs 2,650 per quintal, and 1718 dropped by Rs 255 to Rs 2,971 per quintal.
- Shriram paddy in Bhatpara Mandi (Chhattisgarh) decreased by Rs 100 to Rs 3,100-3,200 per quintal, though some improvement was noted in Rajim Mandi.
Uttar Pradesh:
- In Etah, the price of 1847 paddy fell by Rs 200, and 1718 prices softened by Rs 100.
- Mainpuri saw daily arrivals of 10,000-20,000 bags, leading to a softening of prices by Rs 100-200.
- Prices also remained low in Jahangirabad, Shahjahanpur, Khair, and Aligarh due to increased selling pressure from farmers who were encouraged by recent price rises.
Haryana & Rajasthan:
- In Haryana, Tohana Mandi saw daily arrivals of 30,000 bags of paddy over the last two days.
- Kota (Rajasthan) reported average daily arrivals of 70,000-80,000 bags, while Bundi received 30,000-40,000 bags.
Rice Prices:
- Bhatpara Mandi (Chhattisgarh):
- Vishnu Bhog rice price rose by Rs 200 to Rs 7,800 per quintal.
- Amritsar (Punjab):
- 1121 Steam rice prices fell by Rs 250 to Rs 6,600-6,200 per quintal, and 1718 Sela also saw a decrease of Rs 100.
- Export Market: Exporters are purchasing rice in limited quantities, which has impacted market prices.
