Indore. Due to limited availability of stock and uncompetitive pricing, India's soymeal exports are projected to witness a sharp decline of approximately 50 percent during the current marketing season of 2025-26 (October–September).
According to the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA)—a prominent Indore-based organization—India achieved a robust export volume of 20.23 lakh tonnes of soymeal during the 2024-25 marketing season; however, this figure is expected to plummet to just 10 lakh tonnes in 2025-26.
According to SOPA's report, domestic soymeal production is likely to decrease from 89.56 lakh tonnes in the previous season to 86.49 lakh tonnes in the current season.
Furthermore, the carry-over stock from the previous season stood at a mere 68,000 tonnes—compared to 1.33 lakh tonnes previously—leading to a projected decline in total availability from
90.91 lakh tonnes to 81.17 lakh tonnes. Out of this total, 70 lakh tonnes of soymeal is expected to be consumed domestically, leaving a residual stock of 1.17 lakh tonnes.
