Traders are watching the meeting between U.S. and Chinese leaders later this week. Discussions may focus on extending the current trade truce and making progress on tariffs.
According to the USDA’s NASS Crop Progress report, U.S. soybean harvest is 12% complete, ahead of the 8% average pace. Crop conditions rated good to excellent remained steady at 58%.
Soybean harvest may also slow in the western regions this week due to rainfall. Minnesota, Iowa, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, and parts of Missouri are expected to receive 1 to 4 inches of rain.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange estimates Argentina’s 2026/27 soybean production at 53.6 million metric tons, above last year’s 50.1 million metric tons.
ANEC estimates Brazil’s September soybean exports at 8.02 million metric tons. This is 0.3 million metric tons lower than its previous estimate, 18.25% below August, but 9.25% higher than last year if realized.
China’s Sinograin sold 338,674 metric tons of soybeans on Tuesday, just over 62% of the total quantity offered. Another sale of 514,000 metric tons has been announced for next Monday.
