According to Monday’s Crop Progress report, U.S. corn rated good to excellent improved by 1 percentage point this week to 57%. The Brugler500 index remained unchanged at 347. By state, ratings declined 3 points in Illinois, 11 points in Nebraska, 25 points in Michigan, and 2 points in South Dakota. Improvements were seen in Minnesota (+4), Missouri (+5), and North Dakota (+12).
Harvest may slow in the western regions this week due to rainfall. Minnesota, Iowa, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, and parts of Missouri are expected to receive 1 to 4 inches of rain. The heaviest totals are expected around northeast Nebraska, northwest Iowa, and southeast South Dakota.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange estimates Argentina’s 2026/27 corn production at 66 million metric tons, above last year’s 64 million metric tons. Planting is 11.1% complete.
ANEC estimates Brazil’s September corn exports at 5.97 million metric tons, up 0.23 million metric tons from its previous estimate. This would be 28.25% higher than August but 21.06% lower than the same period last year.
