Rice Import - Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka imported over 167,000 tons of rice during the designated import period.
This includes 66,000 metric tons of raw rice and 101,000 metric tons of parboiled rice.
The import deadline ended at midnight yesterday.
Two ships carrying 8,000 metric tons each are currently anchored near Colombo port.
It remains to be seen whether these ships will be cleared for import or not.
