Old Export Duty Structure Reinstated in Argentina from July 1
★ Soybeans will now be subject to a 33% export tax, while soybean meal and soybean oil will face a 31% export duty.
★ The previous government had temporarily reduced export taxes to 26% for soybeans and 24.5% for its byproducts.
★ In response to the rising export duties, farmers rushed to sell large volumes of soybeans.
★ In June alone, 6.1 million tonnes of soybeans were sold — equivalent to 22% of the 5-year annual average.
★ Soybean harvest in Argentina has reached 96%, with production estimated at 49.5 million tonnes.
