Chickpeas: Harvest Delays Support Prices

★ Although this year's yields are expected to be below last year, significant old-crop carryover stocks remain in the market. Quality varies across these stocks, while lower-quality old crop and off-grade new crop could face marketing challenges as pet food demand can absorb only limited volumes.
★ Once harvest is completed, prices could turn sideways to lower as the global market begins focusing on India's 2027 rabi chickpea crop.

★ Demand for maple peas has improved somewhat, although variety and seed size remain critical for achieving premium prices. Buyers are showing interest in Mosaic and Acres varieties.
