NCCF Invites Bids for Paddy Procurement in Uttarakhand

New Delhi: The Dehradun branch of the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India (NCCF)—an agency under the Central Government—has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) from eligible and capable cooperative societies for the procurement of paddy in Uttarakhand. A notification issued by the Federation states that the selected entities will be responsible for all activities related to procuring paddy from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) during the harvest season.

The procurement pertains to paddy produced during the 2026-27 Kharif season. The deadline for submitting applications is October 7, 2026. The activities to be undertaken by the applicants include procuring paddy from farmers, packaging, custody, transportation, storage, and the delivery of rice. An average rice recovery rate of 67 percent from paddy is stipulated. This Custom Milled Rice (CMR) will be delivered to the state government in strict adherence to quality standards. Rice supplies must align with the quantities determined by Uttarakhand's Department of Food and Civil Supplies.

Typically, in major producing states, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and its associated state agencies procure non-basmati or common-grade paddy from farmers at MSP for the central pool. However, in Uttarakhand, the NCCF has also decided to procure paddy through cooperative societies.
