Massive Soybean Exports from Brazil Driven by Record Production and Chinese Demand

Paranaguá. In the Latin American nation of Brazil, the harvesting and preparation of the soybean crop have concluded, and estimates regarding the national output are now being compiled. Preliminary reports project that soybean production there will surge to between 178 and 180 million tonnes—an all-time historical record.

Buoyed by this record-breaking output, Brazil is expected to successfully boost its soybean exports to a new record high during the current 2025-26 marketing season. The vast Chinese market remains fully open to its exporters.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has projected a record soybean production of 180 million tonnes in Brazil for the current year, with total exports from the country expected to reach a new peak of 112.5 million tonnes.

Within Brazil's domestic sector, soybean crushing and processing operations are also conducted on a large scale. Brazil is, furthermore, a leading producer and exporter of both soybean oil and soymeal. India imports significant quantities of crude degummed soybean oil from Brazil. Approximately 70 percent of Brazil's total soybean exports are destined for China alone.
