State-level crop progress reports released Monday afternoon showed winter wheat ratings in Kansas (KS) at 47% good/excellent (gd/ex), with the Brugler500 Index at 333. This is down from 56% (351) in mid-December but higher than last year’s 43% (318) for the same period.
In Oklahoma (OK), ratings also declined, dropping 3% from late November’s 45%, with the Brugler500 Index now at 327.
U.S. Census data recorded wheat exports in November at 1.417 million metric tons (MMT) or 52.06 million bushels (mbu), the highest for the month in four years. This brought second-quarter total exports to 199.7 mbu, including processed products, with the marketing year’s first-half total reaching 425 mbu.
The European Union (EU) reported soft wheat exports at 11.16 MMT as of January 5, down 33.93% from 16.89 MMT during the same period last year.
