International Cotton Market Update
On Wednesday, ICE cotton futures declined by 28 to 35 points, pressured by external factors such as a 522-point increase in the U.S. Dollar Index and a $0.93/barrel drop in crude oil prices.
The weekly export sales report will be released on Friday, as government offices will be closed on Thursday for former President Carter's funeral. However, regular market hours will remain unaffected.
On January 7, The Seam reported online sales of 13,770 bales at an average price of 61.88 cents/pound. ICE-certified cotton stocks remained unchanged on Tuesday at 20,113 bales.
The Cotlook A Index rose by 100 points on January 7, reaching 79.05 cents/pound. Meanwhile, the USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) increased by 48 points last Thursday, now at 55.03 cents/pound.
