International Cotton Market
ICE cotton futures closed lower on Tuesday, with nearby contracts declining by 10 to 17 points. External factors were mixed, as the U.S. Dollar Index rose by 424 points, while crude oil gained $0.86 per barrel.
In November, cotton exports (excluding linters) totaled 658,655 bales, up 14.92% from October and 18.07% higher than the previous year.
The Seam recorded 14,720 bales sold online on January 6, with an average price of 61.67 cents/pound. Certified ICE cotton stocks remained unchanged on Monday at 20,113 bales.
The Cotlook A Index dropped by 100 points on January 6, settling at 78.05 cents/pound. Meanwhile, USDA's Adjusted World Price (AWP) increased by 48 points from the previous week to 55.03 cents/pound as of Thursday.
