On Monday, ICE Cotton Futures closed with gains of 65 to 102 points. External factors were mixed, with the US Dollar Index down by 718 points, while crude oil prices fell by $0.53 per barrel.
CFTC data showed that as of December 31, spec funds added 4,162 contracts to their net short positions, bringing the total to 39,682 contracts.
On January 3, The Seam reported online sales of 2,677 bales at an average price of 59.86 cents/pound. Certified stocks on ICE remained unchanged on Friday at 20,113 bales.
The Cotlook A Index held steady at 79.05 cents/pound on January 3. Meanwhile, the USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) increased by 48 points from the previous week to 55.03 cents/pound as of Thursday.
