Indonesia's Palm Oil Exports to India Decline in March 2025: ITS
★ In March 2025, Indonesia exported 4,97,685 tonnes of palm oil to India, down from 7,77,465 tonnes in February 2025. This marks a sharp decline of 2,79,780 tonnes or 35.9%.  
★ Indonesia’s total palm oil exports also fell by 3.4% in March to 2.047 million tonnes, compared to 2.119 million tonnes in February.  
★ A significant drop was recorded in crude palm oil (CPO) shipments — only 1,01,660 tonnes were exported in March, compared to 2,14,445 tonnes in February, representing a decrease of 1,12,785 tonnes or 52.6%.  
★ RBD palm olein exports declined by 13.5% to 8,10,978 tonnes, while RBD palm oil shipments fell by 12.2% to 4,53,696 tonnes.  
★ Exports to the European Union (EU) increased by 10.1% to 324,421 tonnes, whereas exports to China dropped by 19.2% to 230,035 tonnes.
★ During these months, palm oil prices were higher than those of soybean oil and sunflower oil, leading to a decline in exports.  
★ However, exports from Indonesia to India are expected to rise in April, as palm oil prices have now fallen below soybean oil and sunflower oil.
