Increase in Rice Production Likely in Nepal
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, rice production in the current fiscal year is estimated to reach 5.955 million metric tons.
This represents a 4.04% increase compared to the previous fiscal year.  
It is estimated that during spring and monsoon seasons, rice cultivation will cover a total area of 1.42 million hectares this fiscal year, though this is 1.28% less than the total area under rice cultivation in the previous year.
