How will the weather behave in the coming days?
★ Weather patterns across India are changing rapidly. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of the country are likely to witness rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds in the coming days, while some regions may continue to experience heatwave and hot–humid conditions.
★ Between March 14 and 19, Northeast India is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds of 30–50 kmph. Heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
★ Parts of Central and East India including Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal may also experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds.
★ In Northwest India, states such as Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds along with rainfall, while the Western Himalayan region may receive snowfall.
★ In South India, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is expected over Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and coastal Andhra Pradesh in the coming days.
★ At the same time, heatwave conditions may occur in isolated parts of Odisha and Jharkhand. Coastal regions of Gujarat, Konkan–Goa and Kerala are also likely to experience hot and humid weather.
