Good increase in sugarcane and sugar production expected in Thailand

It sounds like Thailand's sugarcane and sugar production is on track for a promising season, thanks to favorable weather conditions.

If the forecasts hold true, the country’s sugar output could increase significantly, which would boost exportable stock and strengthen Thailand’s position as the second-largest exporter of sugar globally.

However, there’s a bit of a double-edged sword here. While more sugarcane and sugar production is good for the economy, the environmental concerns related to the burning of sugarcane during harvesting are still an issue.

It’s good to see that the government is taking steps to manage this with limits and even shutting down mills that are overusing this method.

Additionally, the dip in global sugar prices due to lower demand and India’s increased sugar exports might impact Thailand's sugar industry, especially since they rely heavily on raw sugar exports.

How do you think this will affect the global sugar market in the coming months? Will Thailand be able to maintain its position despite the challenges?
