Global oilseed market overview for June 2025:
SUNFLOWER
★ In Ukraine, sunflower sowing has reached 4.73 million hectares, which accounts for 93 percent of the planned area. 
★ Sunflower oil production for 2025 is projected at 14.4 million tonnes, an increase of 11 percent compared to last year.
★ Crushing activity in May dropped significantly to 1.00–1.10 million tonnes, which is 39 percent lower year-on-year. This decline is attributed to reduced harvest, limited supply, and cautious selling behavior among farmers.
★ Seed stock levels are estimated between 3.0 to 3.7 million tonnes. For October to December shipment, Ukrainian sunflower oil was traded at $1,080 TDD across six ports, while FOB offers to India were recorded at $1,187.

Soybean
★ Soybean crushing in Ukraine rose in May to 250,000–265,000 tonnes, compared to 194,000–212,000 tonnes during the same month last year.
★ Total crushing this season has crossed 2.55 million tonnes. Estimated soybean stocks stand between 411,000 and 900,000 tonnes.

Russia
SUNFLOWER
★ Sunflower production for 2025 is forecast at 17.5 million tonnes, reflecting a 4 percent increase over 2024 levels.
★ From January to May 2025, sunflower oil exports reached 1.87 million tonnes, marking a 25 percent decline year-on-year.
★ Crude sunflower oil prices remain stable at $1.18–$1.19 per kg FCA, including VAT. RBD sunflower oil is being offered at $1.26–$1.28 per kg FCA, also including VAT but excluding export duties.
★ A strong ruble continues to reduce Russia’s export competitiveness, while seed stocks are building up.
★ Globally, soybean oil prices rose by 5 to 7 cents on Monday, driven by strong futures market gains. Although premiums from Argentina have softened, spot market prices have strengthened.
★ Offers to India were noted at $1,170 for June shipments and $1,150 for the August to September period.
Supply from the Black Sea region remains tight.

CANOLA
★ In the canola market, Australia has reduced its 2025/26 canola crop forecast due to ongoing drought, which is expected to limit export potential.
★ Meanwhile, Ukraine is considering export restrictions on soybeans and rapeseed starting from July 1.
★ This move is aimed at supporting domestic processors by preventing aggressive export competition for raw materials.
