Brazil soybean production estimate unchanged at 178.0 million tons (1,780 lakh tons)
★ As of the end of last week, Brazil’s soybean harvest was 51% complete, compared to 61% during the same period last year. However, harvest progress advanced by 12% during the past week.
★ The Brazilian soybean production estimate was kept unchanged this week at 178.0 million tons (1,780 lakh tons).
★ There is a wide range of estimates among analysts in Brazil regarding total soybean production. Current projections range from about 175.0 million tons (1,750 lakh tons) to 183.0 million tons (1,830 lakh tons). Conab is expected to release its next production estimate on March 13.
★ Meanwhile, Agroconsult increased its 2025/26 Brazil soybean production estimate by 0.85 million tons (8.5 lakh tons) last week to 183.1 million tons (1,831 lakh tons). However, the firm noted that this estimate is preliminary as the survey of Rio Grande do Sul state has not yet been completed. The state is estimated to have suffered losses of about 2 million tons (20 lakh tons) due to hot and dry weather earlier in the year.
