3.15 Lakh Tonnes of Sugar Exported by February

Mumbai. During the current marketing season—specifically from October 2025 to February 2026—approximately 3.15 lakh tonnes of sugar were exported from India.
According to a report by the All India Sugar Trade Association, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) emerged as the leading buyer of this sugar.
According to the Association, this total volume of 3.15 lakh tonnes comprised the export of 257,971 tonnes of white sugar and 53,664 tonnes of refined sugar.
For the 2025-26 marketing season, the government had initially announced a sugar export quota of 15 lakh tonnes, which was subsequently increased by 5 lakh tonnes, setting the final quota at 20 lakh tonnes.
Of this total export volume of 3.15 lakh tonnes, shipments were made to the United Arab Emirates (79,683 tonnes), Afghanistan (71,813 tonnes), Djibouti (45,801 tonnes), and Tanzania (21,330 tonnes).
The Association states that sugar exports from India during the current marketing season are likely to exceed 8 lakh tonnes. Furthermore, the Association has estimated the domestic sugar production to be 283 lakh tonnes.
