Pea prices continue to fluctuate
Kanpur. During the current week, the prices of Desi peas have seen improvement. Desi peas have got support due to the slowdown in selling at low prices and increased buying at the domestic level. The market got support due to the activity of traders and dal millers. On the other hand, pressure remained on the prices of imported peas. Due to continuous selling by importers, the price of imported peas declined. Due to more available stock and relatively weak demand, the prices of foreign peas came down. Due to the pressure of selling by importers and slow buying, the prices of imported peas declined by Rs 50/75 per quintal during the current week as well and the prices remained at Mumbai Canada Rs 3450/3500 Russia Rs 3350 and currency Canada Rs 3250 and Russia Rs 3100/3150 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Kolkata peas also fell by 25/50 rupees per quintal this week and remained at Canada 3700 rupees and Russia 3600 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Due to increased demand, Kanpur peas prices registered a rise of 75 rupees per quintal this week and with this rise, the prices reached 3525/3550 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Lalitpur peas also registered a rise of 100 rupees per quintal this week and the prices reached 3100/3350 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Due to customer support, Orai peas increased by 100 rupees per quintal this week and reached 3000/3200 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Whereas no increase or decrease was seen in the prices of Mauranipur and Mahoba peas this week and the prices remained at Mahoba 3300/3500 rupees and Mauranipur 3100/3150 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Due to support of all round rise and increased buying, the price of peas in Madhya Pradesh has registered a rise of Rs. 100 per quintal this week and with this rise, the price became Rs. 3150/3200 in Bina and Rs. 3200/3320 per quintal in Damoh at the weekend.

Due to support of rise in peas and increased buying, the price of peas has registered a rise of Rs. 150 per quintal during the current week and the price became Rs. 3900/3950 in Kanpur and Rs. 4050/4100 per quintal in Indore at the weekend.
