Some improvement in the price of paddy-rice due to limited arrival and normal business
New Delhi. Of course, the central government has a good stock of rice and paddy, but due to the improvement in the export demand of Indian rice, good purchase of paddy has started by millers and exporters in the markets. Anyway, government agencies do not buy Basmati rice in open markets because no minimum support price is fixed for it. The purchase period crop of general category paddy has already arrived and now the supply of new goods of Rabi period paddy has started in some states. Its government purchase has also started.
Arrival
During the week from 26 April to 2 May, the average daily arrival of paddy in Delhi's Narela Mandi was between 7 to 14 thousand sacks and its price remained somewhat strong amid normal business. The price of 1121 paddy jumped by Rs 220 to Rs 4300 per quintal. Apart from this, there was a slight increase in the prices of 1509 hand 1718 and Taj rice. In Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, 3000/3500 bags of rice were supplied daily and its prices increased by 50 to 200 rupees per quintal. The same situation of prices was seen in Dibai as well.
Rajasthan
On the other hand, in Bundi Mandi of Rajasthan, an average daily arrival of 6 to 12 thousand bags of rice was seen and there an improvement of 50-75 rupees per quintal was seen in the prices. In Kota also, the price of some varieties of rice was up by 100 rupees while the daily arrival there was between 3 to 6 thousand bags. In Gondia, Maharashtra, 3000 bags of rice arrived daily but prices remained stable.
Rice
As far as rice is concerned, there was a good demand from exporters for 1121 Sela rice in Amritsar, due to which its price increased by 200 rupees to 8100/8200 rupees per quintal. There was good business in other categories and varieties of rice as well, due to which its price increased by 50 to 250 rupees per quintal. The export performance of Basmati rice is going well this year as well as last year.
Uttarakhand
In the Nagar Mandi of Uttarakhand, the price of some varieties of rice increased by 100 rupees per quintal. There was good buying there as well. In the Bundi Mandi of Rajasthan, the price of Sugandha and 1509 rice increased by 150-150 rupees and the price of 1718 Sela increased by 225 rupees per quintal.
Delhi
Due to good customer response in Delhi's Naya Bazar, the price of almost all varieties and categories of rice increased by 100 to 400 rupees per quintal. The price of Sugandha Sela increased by 400 rupees to 5000/5300 rupees and the price of 1718 Sela increased by 300 rupees to 5900/6100 rupees per quintal.
