News Capsule: NAFED Pulses & Oilseeds Sale Tender: Sources
★ According to sources, the sale of buffer-stocked pulses (chana and masoor) and oilseeds (soybean) may begin from 22.06.2026.
★ The allocated quantity in the sale tender is reportedly as follows —
• Chana (Rabi 2026): 1,086,790.23 tonnes
• Masoor (Rabi 2026): 2,299.71 tonnes
• Soybean: 28.50 tonnes
Thus, the total allocated quantity is said to be 1,089,118.44 tonnes.
★ Await the official circular for confirmation.
★ Considering the upcoming weather conditions, the possible impact of El Niño, and the pace of sowing, discussions suggest that the sale tenders are being issued earlier this year.
★ The government is currently reported to have around 4.3 million tonnes of pulse stocks, with chana accounting for the largest share. This buffer stock is considered to be more than double that of last year.
